We will take you on an adventure at Lyngstølsvatnet in Norangsdalen with our fantastic fjord kayaks. Come close to nature, experience the life in the clear mountain lake, and get carried away under the enormous and majestic mountains.
We start from the express ferry marine in Øye. From here we take a minibus together to Lyngstølsvatnet which is a 10 minute drive. We will drive past the two small villages Øye and Slyngstad before we drive into the spectacular Norangsdalen.
At Lygnstøylsvatnet we get our kayaks, paddle, lifejackets and marine binoculars. The guide will give a quick safety brief, and then we are ready to explore the exiting mountain lake. The first part of the tour the guide will tell about the local history, and show the best places to use the marine binoculars. Then you are free to paddle alone around the water, and if you are really tough you can take a swim in the lake!
After the tour we drive back to Øye. Here you can take a boat back to Ålesund or enjoy the silence in this beautiful village.
Lygnstøylsvatnet was formed in 1908 when the river Lygna was dammed by a large rock slide. Today it is a very clear lake that is suitable for diving and kayaking. The local guide will tell you more about the history of both the lake and the area.
This is a low threshold trip and fits for all levels as long as you are able to swim. Our kayaks are special made to be easy and safe to kayak. We can guarantee you a safe ride on the fjord.
